Assisted Care and Nursing Home Prevention of Pressure Ulcers.

The People that are at greatest risk of getting pressure ulcers are those who spend a lot of time in a bed, chair, or wheelchair.   People who cannot move or change positions without someone else’s help, including those who are in a coma, paralyzed, or have had a hip fracture are also high at risk of bedsores.

Pressure sores are the second leading cause of death among the elderly.

The Versatilt allows the assisted care and nursing home facility to recline the handicapped patient in their own wheelchair, up to 65 degrees. It will also support up to 750 pounds.

Oval Callout: "I like the Versatilt. It is so easy to move around.  The wheelchair patients are able to take pressure off their legs and feet.  This really helps to reduce bed sores and ulcers."

Personal Testimonial

My name is Randy and I'm 33 years old. I'm married and have 6 wonderful children and I live in chronic pain.

Since the age of 10 my legs have hurt. I’ve gone to many doctors only to be told that its growing pains or that I was wanting attention. Later my left leg developed a blood clot that cut off the circulation and my leg began to swell. Finally the doctors realized that I have a blood disorder, Lyden Factor V (five). I was immediately put on Coumadin and told that if a blood clot travels from my leg to my heart, lungs, or brain, I will have severe problems and could possibly die. I was only 18.

Life is just beginning for me. Since then I have had multiple blood clots in both legs that required surgery. Stents were placed in the IVC Vein (Inferior Venacava Vein) because the clots blocked the blood flow to my heart. My leg pain is due to the blood clots damaging the valves in my veins causing extreme pressure from the blood backup. This pressure causes my legs to develop extremely painful ulcer wounds that don't heal. It takes months, sometimes years, to get fully healed. Elevating my legs above my heart is the only way to relieve the pressure, the pain, and the ulcers. The problem has been that there is no chair or device that had been created to get my legs elevated high enough with comfort…. until now.

The Versatilt has relieved my pain and assisted in the healing process of my Venous Stasous ulcers. It's simple to use and very comfortable. It tilts back up to 65 degrees giving me the maximum elevation that is needed for the pressure to be relieved.

Having the Versatilt has assisted me with pain free living. When I'm in pain I sit, tilt and ride my way to a comfortable position. Within minutes the pressure in my legs is gone and I’m back to playing with my children.

The Versatilt has given back to me what's important, TIME with my family. “

Thank you, Versatilt!!!

Sincerely,

Randy W.
