Wind energy – Wind power is harvested by wind turbines and windmills. The wind turns the wind turbine and the electrical current is produced and used to generate electrical energy.
Visibly one of the largest advantages of utilizing a wind generation system that operates on wind power is the price. Since electricity costs have gone up, harvesting wind energy is an alternative to using the power from the utility company.

Off-Grid power produces energy separate from the electric utility company grid. Because the wind turbines do not have the ability to store energy it is best to use them in conjunction with a battery system to store the energy in the batteries. Wind Turbines can only produce power when there is adequate air speed. In order to have a nonstop power flow when the wind is not blowing, is to have the generated energy store the power in a battery system. Off-Grid Home Power Systems
Grid Tie systems are connected parallel to the utility grid. The energy they generate is fed directly into the household wiring, which reduces the consumption of electricity from the utility. Whenever the power produced by the turbine is greater than the household needs, the inverter will send the surplus to the utility grid.
Grid Tied systems with battery backup use special inverters with a built in transfer switch. They will reduce your utility bills similarly to grid tie systems. Under normal conditions a portion of the energy is used to keep the storage batteries charged. During a blackout the transfer switch will automatically disconnect the grid and will continue powering the entire home or selected loads from the energy accumulated in the battery bank.
